What is a wood chipper and how does it work?
A wood chipper is a machine that is used to break down branches and other woody debris into smaller pieces, typically in the form of wood chips or mulch. Wood chippers are often used by arborists, landscapers and gardeners to dispose of branches and other woody material that is produced as a result of pruning, tree removal or general landscaping duties.
Often, a large, rotating drum with a series of sharp blades is used to break the material down into smaller pieces. The wood chips are then discharged from the machine through a chute or bag which can then easily be destroyed.
At Machinery Sales EU we currently have a wood chipper for sale
The Wood Chipper RT630 comes with or without a PTO Shaft and varies in price from £1,330.00 – £1,510.00. The RT-630 disc chipper is made to destroy branches, tree trunks up to 12 cm in diameter, and other hardwood objects like sawmill scraps.
Four replacement blades made of wear-resistant steel can be used to alter the thickness of the wood chips produced by positioning them in relation to the counter blade. The knives are fastened to a 620 mm-diameter cutting disc that swings due to the weight of the disc.
